Kibana Search: A Powerful Keyword Filtering Extension for Kibana
Kibana Search is a Chrome extension developed by John Layton that enhances the keyword filtering capabilities of Kibana, a popular log analysis and visualization platform. This extension adds keyword autocomplete and navigation to the Omnibox, making it easier for users to search and filter logs in Kibana.
With Kibana Search, users can configure the extension by providing the URL to access Kibana, the name of the Space, the Id and Name of the Index to discover, the Field name for which to autocomplete, and a list of Columns to display in the search results. Once configured, users can initiate the Kibana Search Omnibox autocomplete and navigation by typing "kibana" followed by the Tab key into the omnibox.
When typing into the Omnibox, the extension queries the Kibana API for suggestions based on the configured settings. Users can select a suggestion or continue typing. Upon hitting the Return key, the current tab will navigate to the Discovery tab of the Kibana UI at the configured URL.
Kibana Search is a valuable extension for users who rely on Kibana for log analysis. It streamlines the search process by providing autocomplete suggestions and easy navigation to the desired search results. Best of all, it is available for free, making it accessible to all Kibana users.
